Our Heritage

Founded in 1908, Darlington Golf Club has stood at the heart of golf in County Durham for over a century. Our course was designed by the legendary Dr Alister MacKenzie in 1914 — the architect who went on to create Augusta National in 1932.

Set just minutes from Darlington town centre, mature tree‑lined fairways, true greens and peaceful countryside views combine to make this one of the most rewarding parkland courses in the North East.

A Classic Parkland Layout

Set across around 80 acres, the course measures 6,217 yards from the back markers with a par of 70 — 36 out and 34 in. Back‑to‑back par fives at the 5th and 6th, and six beautifully crafted par threes, make for a varied and memorable round.
